Yoga for a Happy Neck

Build a safer, sustainable yoga practice for your neck! Create more ease and functional mobility while building strength and stability. Learn therapeutic yoga postures, self-myofascial release, and breath-work practices to promote a healthy cervical spine. This Medical Therapeutic Yoga workshop will guide you through specific practices to help you improve your posture on and off the mat, and ultimately enjoy better function throughout your daily activities.
In this workshop you will learn:
Best care practices for your neck through specific movement techniques, therapeutic postures and breath work
Essential cervical spine mechanics to promote safe asana practice
Practices to create healthy mid-back mobility to support neck health
Accurate core engagement for functional strength & resilience
Integration of breath and voice to build better posture and a stronger core during yoga postures and daily activities
Please bring two yoga blankets or two thick bath towels
Not appropriate for those with acute cervical spine injuries

Roll, Release & Restore

Feeling tight? Tense? Stressed? Give your body some extra love! Join me for a workshop that will leave you feeling balanced, refreshed, and living better in your own body.
Myofascial release is a wonderful self-care practice that complements your yoga practice. The fascia is a fabric of densely woven connective tissue which wraps around every muscle, tendon, ligament, bone and organ. Restricted fascia can limit movement and contribute to pain. Releasing tension & patterns of holding in the fascia and muscle opens the body to better alignment, fuller range of motion, and more ease of movement in yoga practice and daily life. Additionally, fascial release has a soothing effect on the nervous system, creating a sense of calm and centering.
You will learn proper techniques to release myofascial tension and restore healthy function to your connective tissues. Therapy balls will be used to unlock fascial restrictions, hydrate the tissues and empower your body’s innate self-healing. Gentle movement and breath-work will be incorporated to enhance the benefits of these techniques.
Ideal for all levels! Therapy balls will be provided.

This workshop is grounded in Medical Therapeutic Yoga (MTY), a specific methodology which uses yoga and rehabilitation science to help us preserve our joints and age well. MTY helps you build a yoga practice you can sustain for your lifetime, empowering you with specific tools for stress management, improved mobility, functional strength, and long term well-being.
